ZAMBIA’S FLAG FLYS HIGH IN PHILADELPHIA

ZAMBIA has been added to the list of countries that’s flag was raised by Philadelphia Honours Diversity Flag Raising (PHDFR) at City Hall in Philadelphia.

The PHDFR program is aimed at celebrating the cultural and heritage of immigrant communities in their cities through dancing, music and food etc.
Speaking and gracing the ceremony, City Representative of the Mayor’s Office Sheila Hess stated that the raising of the Zambian Flag is truly a testimony of how much Zambians are valued and are an important part of city’s population in Philadelphia.
She further added, this not only symbolises the Zambian/African community’s freedom but also it’s diversity, independence in Solidarity.
Also speaking at the same event,Director of Strategic Communications & Programs Office of Immigrant Affairs James Joinville welcomed the Zambian community in Solidarity and freedom in the city.
And Philadelphia Association of Zambians (PAZA) President Stella Syacika Banda, said the Flag raising is a recognition of Zambians that will not only put the country on the map but as well as make known of what it possesses in the tourism & other sectors.
