STRIKER Patson Daka will next season have to make do with life in the Championship following Leicester City’s relegation from the Premier League.
After a shambolic season, Leicester have dropped down to the second tier of English football despite their 2-1 win over West Ham United today.
Going into the final round of matches in the EPL, Daka’s Leicester needed a minimum of a win against West Ham and hoped Everton would drop points against Bournemouth.
It looked like that at one point when Leicester were leading 1-0 while the match between Everton and Bournemouth was tied at 0-0.
However, things took a turn in the 57th minute when Everton took the lead against Bournemouth.
This rendered Leicester’s lead over West Ham immaterial.
With their relegation, Daka’s future at Leicester is now uncertain. He is likely to attract interest from clubs in the Premier League and Europe, and it remains to be seen whether he will stay at the club next season.
Daka joined the Foxes in 2021, penning a five year contract from Austrian side RB Salzburg.
