ZAMBIAN midfielder Emmanuel Banda will next season play in the UEFA Conference League with his Croatian side Rijeka.
At the weekend, Banda scored directly from a corner to help his side to a 1-1 draw against Osijek in the final league match to finish fourth on the table.
“Proud of this team, came when we were down fighting relegation today [Saturday] in the last game we managed to draw and secure a place in next season’s UEFA Conference League qualifications. Happy to have scored directly from a corner kick. General signs out for the season,” Banda said.
Banda has made 19 league appearances for his new club, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
The combative midfielder has a history of injuries, which has slowed his progress since he moved to Europe from Nchanga Rangers in 2016.
Since then, Banda has played for five clubs in Portugal, Belgium, France, Sweden, and now Croatia.
