A MAN of Ndola allegedly woke up one morning and started beating his wife of seven years while threatening to kill her, claiming he had seen her cheating on him in his dream.
This came to light before Kabushi Local Court magistrates John Kabwe and Imelda Masuwa in a case where Messiah Mutambo was sued by Judith Nakamba for divorce.
Nakamba narrated how Mutambo was fond of beating and threatening to kill her since the time he claimed to have dreamed that she was cheating on him.
“We got married in 2016 and all was just going well until one day the defendant said he dreamed of me cheating on him. He then started beating me and choking me, threatening to kill me. We sat down with our parents but he insisted that I was cheating on him, according to his dream,” she said.
Nakamba told the court that after elders talked to him, Mutambo promised to change and she forgave him.
She, however, said later Mutambo went back to threatening her and accusing her of cheating on him, which made her leave and start living on her own
